September 11, 2008
New Kids On The Block, Young Jeezy Top U.S. ChartsYoung Jeezy and New Kids On The Block have claimed the #1 and #2 top album spots on the Billboard charts for the week ending September 7.

With 260,000 albums moved, Young Jeezy’s latest effort ‘The Recession’ became the #1 album in the country. This marks the rapper’s second #1 of his career.

Veteran boy band New Kids On The Block debuted at #2 with 95,000 copies sold with their new album ‘The Block’. The chart position is the band’s best since their 1990 smash album ‘Step By Step’, which debuted at #1.

Last week’s #1 album, Slipknot's ‘All Hope Is Gone’ slipped to #5 selling 75,000 while last week’s #2, The Game’s ‘LAX’ dropped one spit to #3 selling 89,000.

Rounding out the top 5 is Kid Rock’s ‘Rock N Roll Jesus’ down one place at #4 with 79,000.
