TV On The Radio Star Gerard Smith Dies Of Lung CancerTV On the Radio star Gerard Smith has died followed a battle with lung cancer.

The bassist died on Wednesday morning (April 20), his bandmates said in a statement.

Smith was diagnosed with the disease shortly after the band finished  recording new album 'Nine Types Of Light'. He was not going to join them on tour this summer while he received treatment.
