Arctic Monkeys Turn Down Six-Figure Sum For LA GigFebruary 3, 2011
The Arctic Monkeys have turned down a six-figure sum to play a gig in LA, it has been reported.
The Sheffield band, who are understood to have rented a £30,000 a week £3million mansion in the Hollywood Hills, have been offered a six-figure sum to play at a garden party in LA, the Sun reports. A source told The Sun: "Most of the locals are bang-up for a good time. They're young, rich, party-loving and keen to make friends with the lads." "One even offered six figures for the lads to play at their garden party but the group refused. The line, 'We're not performing monkeys' was said to have been used." As previously reported, Arctic Monkeys are recording their fourth album with producer James Ford. (by Holly Frith) See also: Arctic Monkeys Cook Up A Storm In LA (28.04.2011)
