Arcade Fire Joke About The Libertines At Reading And Leeds 2010August 27, 2010
Arcade Fire have spoken about their appearance alongside The Libertines at this weekend’s Reading and Leeds festivals.
The recently reformed group will play just before the Canadian band headline the event in Leeds tonight (August 27) and Reading on Saturday (August 28). In an interview with BBC Newsbeat, Arcade Fire frontman Win Butler joked: "The Liber-what? That's the one with that guy right? "We don't have anything to do with that stuff. I mean, they're an exciting rock band. I think it'll be a good double bill." Libertines frontman Carl Barat said Butler’s comment was “surprisingly nice”, adding: “I didn't think they wanted it to be a double bill.” The band have reformed for the festivals and played their first public gig in six years at the Forum in London on Wednesday (August 25). Meanwhile, Guns N’ Roses and Blink-182 will join Arcade Fire as headliners at the Reading and Leeds festival, which runs until Sunday (August 27).
