Amy Winehouse 'May Have Tuberculosis'June 20, 2008
Doctors fear that Amy Winehouse may be suffering from tuberculosis after the singer apparently coughed up blood.
Winehouse, who is currently undergoing tests in a London medical facility, is said to also be suffering from a chest infection and dramatic weight loss, symptoms, experts say, are common with the disease. The singer was admitted to the London Clinic in Marylebone on Monday after she fainted whilst “doing admin” at her home in Camden. Winehouse was expected to leave the clinic on Tuesday (June 17th) but initial tests proved “inconclusive”. The fears that she may be suffering from TB were raised in this morning's Sun newspaper. As previously reported, a spokesperson for the signer said yesterday (June 19th) that the singer is still expected to perform at Glastonbury and the Nelson Mandela tribute concert next week. "At present she still intends to perform at her two scheduled dates next week,” the spokesperson explained. “However the decision will be made entirely on the advice of her doctors and in her best interests."
