Amy Winehouse's Husband 'Wanted Pete Doherty Assaulted'June 17, 2008
Amy Winehouse's husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, offered money to a fellow prisoner to organise an attack on Pete Doherty, a court has been told.
While being held in prison awaiting trial, Fielder-Civil heard rumours that Doherty had begun romancing his wife and offered upwards of £20,000 "to cause damage" to the Babyshambles frontman. The allegations surfaced during the trial of two men, Douglas Johnson and David Austin, who accused of taking part in a contract killing, reports the Telegraph. The jury in their trial heard from one witness, Richard Lyttle, who said that while in Pentonville Prison with Fielder-Civil, Winehouse's husband said "he would give £20,000 to anyone who done him [Doherty] – cause him injury.” Fielder-Civil is currently awaiting sentence after pleading guilty to assaulting a man and then trying to cover the incident up. He faces a maximum of five years in jail over the assault charge. (by Jason Gregory) See also: Pete Doherty Pleads Guilty To Cocaine Possession (09.04.2011)
