Amy Winehouse 'Arrives Late' For Husbands Court AppearanceJune 3, 2008
Amy Winehouse arrived at court late yesterday (June 2nd) to support her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, who faces charges of perverting the course of justice and assault.
The singer exchanged smiles and a mouthed conversation with Fielder-Civil as she sat in the front row of Snaresbrook Crown Court in East London. Winehouse listened intently as the legal arguments in Fielder-Civil's case were read out ahead of his trial later this year. At one point, the singer pointed to a chair next to her and told her husband to "come and sit here next to me", according to the Press Association. The charges against Fielder-Civil stem from an incident outside a pub in East London in 2006. He’s accused of causing grievous bodily harm with intent to the pub’s landlord James King. It was later claimed that he had attempted to pervert the course of justice with the alleged victim. Winehouse’s appearance in court came just three days after her performance at the Rock in Rio Festival in Portugal was criticised by fans.
