Amy Winehouse Pleads Not Guilty To Assault ChargeMarch 17, 2009
Amy Winehouse has denied assaulting a fan at a charity ball in London last September.
The singer pleaded not guilty to a charge of common assault during an appearance at the City of Westminster Magistrates' Court this morning. An unnamed female fan claims Winehouse reacted angrily after she asked to have her photograph taken with the singer at the End of Summer Ball in Berkeley Square, London on September 8th. The case has now been adjourned until July 23rd. Winehouse, who was wearing a floral dress, was accompanied by her father, Mitch, in court. The pair were trailed by paparazzi as they made their way to court from Winehouse's new home in North London. Winehouse's lawyer, Mark Haslam, apologised to the judge after the singer arrived late in court. Winehouse's withdrawal from next month's Coachella festival in Los Angeles is thought to be a result of her current legal issues.
