Amy Winehouse Denied Visa For Coachella FestivalMarch 9, 2009
Amy Winehouse has been forced to pull out of next month's Coachella festival in Los Angeles after US immigration officials denied her a visa, it's been reported.
The refusal comes just days after the singer was charged with common assault in relation to an alleged incident involving a fan at a gig last year. Winehouse had been due to make her long awaited comeback at Coachella, on a bill that also includes Sir Paul McCartney, The Killers and The Cure. A spokesman for the singer told the Daily Mirror: "She is not appearing at Coachella this year in the light of current legal issues." As previously reported, Winehouse has been accused of hitting a fan at the End of Summer Ball in Berkeley Square, London last September. The fan claims that the incident took place after she asked to have her photograph taken with the singer. Winehouse has been summoned to attend the City of Westminster Magistrates' Court on March 17th. (by Jason Gregory) See also: Amy Winehouse Too Busy Working On New Album To Party (29.03.2011)
