Amy Winehouse 'Back In Hospital To Receive Extra Treatment'November 3, 2008
Amy Winehouse has returned to hospital to continue ongoing treatment for a chest infection, according to reports.
Winehouse was discharged from the London Clinic last Friday but is said to have returned today (November 3rd) for more treatment. A source told People magazine: "She had a chest infection [last week] and underwent some tests to make sure nothing else was wrong. "She has been told to give up smoking and was initially struggling with that – she was covered in nicotine patches at one point but she is making an effort." In June, Doctors treated the singer for traces of the lung disease emphysema and warned that her illness would accelerate unless she gave up smoking. Last summer, Winehouse' father, Mitch, warned of the possible severity of his daughter's lung problems. "The doctors have told her if she goes back to smoking drugs, it won't just ruin her voice, it will kill her," Mr Winehouse said. "There are nodules around the chest and dark marks. She has 70 percent lung capacity." (by Jason Gregory) See also: Amy Winehouse Too Busy Working On New Album To Party (29.03.2011)
