No Doubt Take Legal Action Against Band HeroNovember 5, 2009
No Doubt are taking legal action against 'Band Hero' creators Activision after the computer games giant allegedly broke the rules of their agreement.
Having signed a deal with Activision to feature as characters, the band say that the manufacturers reportedly failed to stick to their agreement. Despite agreeing that their characters could only perform No Doubt songs Gwen Stefani's character can sing in a male voice on songs like The Rolling Stones' 'Honky Tonk Woman'. An extract from the court document reads: "While No Doubt are avid fans of The Rolling Stones and even have performed in concerts with The Rolling Stones, the Character Manipulation Feature results in an unauthorised performance by the Gwen Stefani avatar in a male voice choir boasting about having sex with prostitutes." No Doubt wish to remove their name from the game and any unofficial use of their band in the game. (by David Renshaw) See also: Gwen Stefani: No Doubt Album Will Be A While (23.02.2011)
