Kaiser Chiefs' Ricky Wilson Vows To Complete London Marathon After CollapsingApril 19, 2011
Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson has vowed to complete the London Marathon after collapsing shortly before the finishing line.
The singer was 24 miles into the 26.2 mile race on Sunday (April 17) when he had to be treated by paramedics. In a message on Twitter today (April 19), Wilson said he had taken 3 hours and 20 minutes to get to the 24 mile mark. He added: "Very disappointed! Will try and get it finished before the weekend." Wilson entered the race to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society. Band mate Nick Hodgson's dad was diagnosed with the disease last year. Meanwhile, Editors' Tom Smith and Russell Leetch both completed the race on Sunday in a time of 4 hours and 15 minutes.
